LOVB Los Angeles Names Laura Flynn Chief Revenue Officer
Sports business veteran joins from Angel City FC, bringing a track record of record-setting revenue growth from the NWSL and the NBA to build LOVB LA from the ground up.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — League One Volleyball (LOVB) Los Angeles announced that Laura Flynn has joined as Chief Revenue Officer, ahead of the club's debut as the league's seventh professional team for Season 3. In this role, Flynn will lead revenue strategy across sponsorship, ticketing and merchandise, to build a new professional women's volleyball brand in one of the country's deepest volleyball markets.
Flynn joins LOVB LA from Angel City FC of the NWSL, where she has served as Chief Revenue Officer since January 2025. There, she led sales strategy across the club's roster of more than 30 sponsors and partners spanning sponsorship, ticketing, events and merchandise, while helping guide Angel City's business operations as one of the highest-valued franchises in women's sports.
Before Angel City, Flynn spent seven years with the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, most recently as Senior Vice President of Commercial Partnerships, and previously as Vice President of Premium overseeing ticketing sales and service strategy for premium season-ticket holders and suite owners. During her tenure, the Trail Blazers posted record-setting Premium revenue, signed the franchise's first local jersey patch partner, and Flynn played a key role in the team's media rights agreement with Sinclair Broadcasting and in the launch of the club's G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix.
Earlier in her career, Flynn served as Director of Marketing, Communications and Partnerships for the NWSL's Chicago Red Stars, and held commercial leadership roles in the fitness industry with Equinox, The Bay Club and The Sports Club/LA.
Flynn is widely recognized as a leader and mentor in sports business. In 2023, she was named WISE Portland's “Woman of Inspiration” for her work advancing women in sports and events, and she has been a longtime advocate for women's leadership and DEI initiatives across the industry. She holds a master's degree in Corporate Communication from Boston University and a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from California University of Pennsylvania.
“Women's sports has been the throughline of my entire career, and volleyball is its next great growth story — it's the number one participation sport for girls in this country, and there is no market better suited to prove what that passion can become at the professional level than LA,” said Flynn. “I've spent my career helping teams and leagues that were still writing their own rules to find new ways to grow — from Rip City to Angel City — and I couldn't ask for a better next chapter than helping build LOVB Los Angeles from its very first season, for a sport with more grassroots energy behind it than almost any other.”
“Laura has spent her career proving that women's sports franchises can build sustainable, record-setting businesses,” said Ana Mendy, President, LOVB LA. “Volleyball has the deepest grassroots fan base of any sport we've brought to LA, and Laura is exactly the operator to turn that passion into a professional franchise this city will rally around.”
